Used to treat a variety of conditions, laser therapy & PEMF are non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free, drug-free alternative treatment methods. They can be used in conjunction with more conventional treatment protocols.

Laser therapy treatment

Whether your pet is rehabilitating from an injury, healing from wounds, or simply aging, we treat a variety of conditions with laser therapy – and, depending on your pet’s condition, relief is often evident within hours of treatment.

Conditions That Can Be Treated with Laser Therapy

The following conditions are commonly treated with laser therapy:

  • Arthritis, degenerative joint disease, and hip dysplasia
  • Pain management for sprains, strains, and stiffness
  • Post-surgery pain after spays, neuters, declaws, and other surgical procedures
  • Skin problems, such as hot spots, lick granulomas, and infections
  • Dental procedures
  • Fractures and wounds, such as bites, abrasions, and lesions
  • Ear infection

How laser therapy works

Laser therapy stimulates the body to heal from within. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body for about three to eight minutes and are absorbed by the injured cells, which respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in relief from pain, increased circulation, reduced inflammation, and an acceleration of the healing process.

As the laser is administered, the nearly immediate relief of pain allows your pet to relax comfortably and any anxiety your pet initially experiences will dissipate. Angry cats often start to purr and dogs often fall asleep during the session.

PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields)

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) is a non-invasive form of treatment that may act as a form of pain relief in chronic degenerative conditions, and can speed the patient’s recovery from traumatic injuries. The MagnaWave machine we use has a unique electrical current that runs through a copper coil that creates a pulsing magnetic field.

Using PEMF is said to promote cellular exercise, increase oxygenation, and reduce inflammation, and also helps reduce anxiety and pain.
